Armed robbery at Lewisham Old Age Home

The robbery took place at 12.30am that morning and it is alleged that the security guard on duty was over powered by three unknown male suspects armed with firearms.

Krugersdorp Police are investigating a case of armed robbery after a group of suspects robbed Lewisham Old Age Home in Hompes Street on Wednesday, 18 October.

The robbery took place at 12.30am that morning and it is alleged that the security guard on duty was overpowered by three unknown male suspects armed with firearms.

“He was tied up and the suspects took a maroon Opel Rekord with the registration number CPH 506 GP, and two vehicle batteries, and damaged the ignition of another vehicle,” said Sergeant Tshepiso Mashele, spokesperson for the Krugersdorp Police.

“No serious injuries were reported, and no shots were fired.”

Krugersdorp Police is appealing to the community to assist with information that might help apprehend the suspects involved in this crime.
