Rotary Club celebrates, gives and enjoys

The Club gave funding from the West Rand Show’s purse to nine local charitable organisations to spend on things they need in the future.

It was a night of appreciation and a night of giving for the Rotary Club of Krugersdorp as they celebrated a year well spent.

The club donated money from the West Rand Show’s purse to nine local charitable organisations to spend on things they need in the future.

Representatives of each of the organisations stepped forward with huge smiles on their faces, knowing that their jobs will be a little easier from now on.

The money is the fruit of an interest-bearing account that Bill and Christa Greyvenstein created after the last West Rand Show. As the account grows, more money becomes available and more can be donated.

Newly appointed Rotary President, Dehlia van Staden, whose inauguration also took place on this special night, handed the funding over to Cradle of Hope, Red Cross of SA, Salvation Army, Lighthouse for Disabled Children, Gateway, Polokego, Bethany House, Baby Jade and Gideons.

After the handover, previous beneficiaries told the audience how they had spent their money.

The Rotarians also presented Bill with a special certificate of recognition for his generosity to and support of charity organisations in Krugersdorp.
