Pre-Christmas donations spread happiness

The News is still accepting donations, and encourages its readers to clean out their houses before the Christmas season starts, and make someone else's Christmas as happy as theirs. Thank you, Krugersdorp!

On Saturday, 21 October, the News delivered a bakkie-load of food and clothes to the Sterkfontein Dairy informal settlement, and was humbled by the residents’ appreciation of the gesture. Idah Konopi, one of the residents, received almost five full outfits of clothing and even some food.

“Look at this nice pair of pants,” said Idah, “they will fit perfectly.”

The donations were made possible by the kind hearts of the West Rand Biker’s church and an anonymous donor – and there are still some clothes left, so keep an eye on the Krugersdorp News’ website to see where the next drop will be.
