Bust ‘four’ robbery

The suspects used a panga to rob their victims

Kagiso Police arrested four suspects aged between 20 and 23 on Friday, 20 October, for robbery and possession of stolen property on Main Reef Road. The suspects allegedly attacked and robbed the complainant of his property after threatening him with a panga at about 8.45pm.

The crime prevention members were performing their normal duties when they came across the complainant who stopped them. He informed them that he had just been robbed of his belongings. The police responded swiftly and took the complainant to where he had allegedly been robbed.

A few minutes later, they spotted four people, whom the complainant identified as his attackers. Police stopped and searched them. During the search, they found a panga and a bag which contained the complainant’s belongings in one suspect’s possession. He and his accomplices were immediately put under arrest.

The suspects were detained at Kagiso Police stations and charged with robbery and possession of stolen property. They have made a brief appearance in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court and were remanded in custody for formal bail applications.
