Boys throwing crackers in public spaces
The latest incident was at Monument Primary School where the suspects threw a lit cracker into the school premises.
The Community Policing Forum (CPF) of Sector 4 in Krugersdorp reported that two boys have been seen driving around in a white VW throwing crackers into primary schools and private gardens since Monday, 30 October.
“At first there were reports of shots fired in Noordheuwel,” said Brent Proctor,operations coordinator for the CPF in Sector 4.

“On further investigation, the CPF patrollers and EPR officers who were dispatched to the area found no evidence of shots being fired – instead they found evidence of crackers being lit and thrown.”

No injuries were reported. The public is urged to report noises that sound like gunfire or crackers immediately, clearly indicating the location. “We also urge the community to keep an eye open for these suspects who are terrorising our community and report to the police or the CPF as soon as possible.”
