Two-year-old toddler kidnapped by stepfather
The suspect led the police to a flat in Krugersdorp where the baby was found.
Police have arrested the 42-year-old stepfather of a toddler who was kidnapped on Tuesday, 14 November.
At about 4pm, the complainant opened a case of kidnapping against her two-year-old daughter’s stepfather. She stated that the stepfather went to the crèche and took her daughter without her permission. The police’s Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) in Krugersdorp immediately launched a manhunt for the suspect.

He was traced and eventually apprehended in Tembisa on the East Rand, late that same night. The man then led the police to a flat in Krugersdorp where the toddler was found unharmed.
The suspect has been detained at the Kagiso Police Station and is expected to appear briefly in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court soon.
Brigadier Sipho Ngubane, station commander of Kagiso Police, applauded the FCS for their swift response which led to the successful apprehension of the suspect.
