Be a hero without a cape – and donate

Child welfare South Africa is embarking on an urgent fundraising campaign.

Child Welfare South Africa provides services to about two million children a year and relies on the generosity of members of the public.

The organisation is asking the members of the public for donations in order to assist with projects which are implemented to help educate, support and empower children to make informed decisions regarding their well-being.

Child Welfare South Africa is fully dedicated to combating human trafficking, the commercial sexual exploitation of children, and all forms of abuse that children are exposed to.

Sandra Moodley, the Fundraising Coordinator, said these donations will make a difference in the whole of South Africa, helping to put an end to human trafficking – especially with the festive season upon us.

“Our focus should be on the safety of boys, as well as on that of girls, Men also endure violence and they shouldn’t have to suffer in silence,” said Sandra.

Child Welfare SA started the superhero fund raising campaign in an effort to encourage South Africans to be a ‘super hero’ to a child.

“You do not need a cape or special powers to be a hero. The fact that you care and are prepared to come on board and donate in order to make a difference in a child’s life already makes one a superhero. Since the festive season is around the corner we are running the Superhero #relate2donate campaign. We want people to relate to a child in need and donate in order to make a child have a good festive season,” said Sandra.

Every child has the right to be happy and safe, and you, the superheroes of South Africa can ensure that happen by donating.

“Child welfare South Africa is asking that South Africans donate any amount that they are comfortable with. Every cent goes towards us continuing our amazing work,” said Sandra.
