AMF and Evangelism Guild to spread the word of God
All members of the public are invited.
The Anglican Men’s Fellowship (AMF) and Evangelism Guild 2017 is a conference held once in the diocese every eight years, to spread the word of God and share His spiritual gifts.
The congregation uses a rotational system to determine in which diocese the conference will be held, and this time it is the turn of the Kagiso community.
The outreach programme will take place on 26 November at 5am, with the congregants parading as a guild on the streets around the Kagisanong Hall. At the beginning of the programme, there will be singing, praising and spreading the word of God to the community.
Margaret Lekgothoane, a congregant, said the conference will start on Wednesday, 22 November at Maranatha Conference and Retreat Centre, where only delegates from different dioceses in the Anglican Community will be attending.
“The rest of the guild members will be joining us on Sunday, 26 November, with everyone invited to come along. The line-up of the day will include guest speakers, an address by our president, and many other guild activities,” she said.
Between 22 and 24 November, all delegates will take part in the main outreach programme, visiting the home and parish of the founder of the Guild, the late Canon Manentsa.
“All children and adults are welcomed to attend this conference at no cost. However, we encourage older persons to accompany the children, as there will be a lot of people in attendance,” said Margaret.
People can expect an Anglican way of worship that is led by the Holy Spirit. This will dispel the myth that there is no Holy Spirit in the mainstream churches.
All God-loving people of Krugersdorp who want to experience a vibrant worship session led by Amadodana and Bomme ba Evangeli from the Anglican church are invited to attend.
“There will be members from other provinces who will enrich the worship sessions. This is a once in a lifetime experience,” concluded Margaret.
