Christmas light homes to be added on GPS

You too can submit your decorated home, or drive along the route planned by Rudolph's Light Scout.

Rudolph’s Light Scout allows families and friends to enjoy the festivities of Christmas light viewing around various neighbourhoods, by taking one of the many routes on the website.

How it works:

People submit pictures of their lit up Christmas houses, which are then added to the light route, to be enjoyed by anyone who fancies taking a drive to look at the houses.

The public will sign up to the website, click on one of their routes which will then open up the GPS on their device and guide them to view the many houses that have been submitted by home decorators. The fun part is that the public will also be able to vote for their favourite houses.

Submit your house to the Rudolph’s Light Scout website and let others enjoy the view.

A competition has also been launched, with prize categories including ‘The best home decorator’, which you can vote for on the website.

The site goes live on 1 December. Home decorators will be able to submit the addresses of their lit up homes to the website at www.rudolphslightscout.co.za. The homes will then be added to the routes, and the public can sign up and be notified once the routes go live.

Light Scouters:

Head over to www.rudolphslightscout.co.za, sign up and you will be notified when the routes go live. Remember to save this URL as a shortcut to your mobile home screen, as once they go live this is where you will be able to find the magical routes. As a Light Scouter, you will be able to vote for your favourite Christmas displays and automatically be entered into our competition draw (the winner will be picked at random).
