Truck hits and kills pedestrian
An off-duty paramedic administered CPR to the victim before other medics arrived.
A man, believed to be in his 30s, was killed yesterday morning, 22 November when he was knocked down by a truck on the R512 near the Lion Park.
ER24 paramedics, along with Life Healthcare, arrived on the scene and found the man lying in the emergency lane of the road. The truck that had hit him was parked just a short distance away.

The paramedics found an off-duty paramedic performing CPR on the victim.
ER24 and Life Healthcare paramedics immediately provided the man with further CPR and advanced life support interventions, but unfortunately, after 30 minutes, no vital signs had returned and the man was declared dead.

The driver of the truck fortunately escaped injury.
Local authorities were on the scene and will be launching an investigation into the incident.
