Man stabs suspect after he tried to steal his car

The man was also stabbed, but is recovering in hospital.

A man who saw suspects in his car stabbed one of them after realising that they were trying to steal it.

On Sunday, 26 of November at approximately 7.10am the man said he was informed about two suspects busy stripping his vehicle. He rushed to investigate and saw people in his vehicle trying to drive off.

He managed to grab the suspect who was driving and stabbed him with a knife. The suspect also stabbed the man with a knife. The suspects tried to run away, but the security guard who was nearby managed to apprehend one of them.

The man was taken to hospital for medical treatment. The 28-year-old suspect is in the hospital under police guard. He will be charged with theft of motor vehicle and assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm.
