Gun-wielding suspect arrested for attempted murder

Kagiso Police have arrested a 32-year-old male suspect in Tshepisong on charges of attempted murder.

The suspect, who is alleged to be trigger-happy, had been on the run for more than two weeks. He was cornered late on Wednesday night, 6 December, at his home.

On 19 November at about 9am, the suspect and his two armed accomplices allegedly met and attacked the complainant and his two friends who were from a local tavern.

They just opened fire on the victims, and the complainant sustained gunshot wounds to his upper and lower body. The armed perpetrators fled the scene thereafter and the complainant was rushed to hospital in a serious condition. He spent a week recovering.

The police launched a manhunt for the three armed individuals, who were on the run.

Tshepisong is known for armed individuals who have no respect for life, but the Kagiso Police have vowed to rid the area of violent criminal elements.
