Beer, rain, good times

The 5km route had five stops each at the 1km mark and underneath marques, the runners could take a break and play some beer pong while waiting for the rain to calm down.

A group of friends, the pouring rain, a beer in hand – this is how they roll!

The annual Beer Run that took place in November at Maragon Avianto Primary School was still fantastic, despite the pouring rain.

There were cheers all round as each person cracked open a beer.

Bubbling sparkles flowed out of the bottles while participants in the fun run ran through the muddy and rugged terrain.

The 5km route had five stops, each a kilometre from the previous one, where the runners could take a break and play some beer pong under a marquee while waiting for the rain to calm down a little.

Gabriel Harvey Stoltz and Jacobus Greeff, who came to the run with the other ‘Beerculeses’, played a great round of beer pong. They almost won, but with the last throw they lost, and had to down the last drink.

It was fun all round as the crowd made the most of the rainy situation.
