How to repurpose unwanted Christmas gifts
With your limited space and clashing porcelain white crockery, your kitchen will become a décor disaster if the wrong element is added to it.
Face it; the matching blue, yellow and brown tea set your mother-in-law bought you as a last-minute Christmas gift is going to haunt you for the rest of the year and with your limited space and clashing porcelain white set, your kitchen will be a décor disaster.
That’s why the News has come up with some options for you to get rid of those unwanted gifts and contribute to society at the same time.
Here’s what you can do:
– Donate the items to a local charity shop to sell. Books can be donated to the Fora Book Shop in 4th Street, Krugersdorp. Call 076 771 5480 for more information. The Child Welfare Charity Shop in Magaliesburg will also appreciate some book donations. Contact 078 498 0799 for more information.
– Donate items to Krugersdorp News’ Christmas project. Contact journalist Bianca Pindral by dropping an email to biancap@caxton.co.za for more information,
–Take your unwanted pressies to an informal settlement. Pango Camp is one of the local informal settlements that needs all the help it can get. With over 300 people living in poverty, there’s sure to be someone who can use that unwanted gift. The informal settlement is located at the intersection of Jabulani and Madiba Roads, Munsieville. Contact Hugo on 084 689 3356 for more information, or give the item to News journalist Bianca Pindral to deliver. Contact Bianca on biancap@caxton.co.za
– Donate unwanted children’s gifts to children’s charities such as Mug and Tree Community Care – call them on 011 660 7453.
– Donate it to the people of Cradle of Hope. For more information, contact them on 011 660 4623.
