Foreign national murdered at railway station
"It is alleged that the community attacked the foreign nationals with bricks and sticks, killing one of them."
Krugersdorp Police are investigating a case of murder after four foreign nationals were attacked at a railway station next to Makhulugama informal settlement on Tom Muller Street, and one of them died.
“It is alleged that the community attacked the foreign nationals with bricks and sticks at 7.45am on Monday, 15 January. One died as a result and three were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The motive for the attack is unknown,” said Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, spokesperson for the Krugerdorp Police Station.

The informal settlement is notorious for its illegal miners and violent fights between them and another informal settlement nearby.
Krugersdorp Police officers urged the community to refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
Cases should be reported for further investigation and perpetrators arrested. This kind of conduct is criminal, and people will be arrested and charged.
