Resident of burnt house speaks out
Another female bystander mentioned that there was a child among the seven residents living in the house.
Last night, a great many Krugersdorp residents living in and near to the CBD area woke up to the frightening sounds of loud screams and burning houses, caused by a group of people originating from Kagiso.
It is rumoured that these acts of violence emanate from a report about an allegedly kidnapped Kagiso woman.

When the News visited the site of one of the burnt down houses the following morning, a group of speculators was found on the sidewalk analysing the damage.

“It was already late when we heard some sort of committee parading through the streets. With no reason, and no questions asked, they set our house alight, apparently looking for a young girl,” the owner of the house said.
“Our house was the second one to be burnt down. Now all we have are the clothes on our backs.”
Another female bystander mentioned that there was a child among the seven residents living in the house.
“They’ve burnt the house down, and left a small child with nothing,” she explained.
During the night, the group raided two shops and burnt down three houses – two in Sivewright Street and one in Luipaard Street. Fortunately, nobody was injured during the attacks.
The victim of the alleged kidnapping was later brought to the Kagiso Police Station after she was found near Chief Mogale in Kagiso. The woman was taken for medical treatment and the investigation into the rumoured kidnapping is still receiving priority attention.
