Animal shelter not a’moo’sed by abandoned calf
"I know she’s not a dog or a cat, but she is a living being, that needs prayers and help to get her stronger."
On Tuesday, 23 January the 9th Day Animal Rescue received a call about a little calf too weak to walk that was found in a field. They went to the scene and found her.
The calf, which they named Little Annabelle, was rushed to the vet and put on a drip. She’s about a month old and one can only wonder where her mother is.

“Was Annabelle bought at an auction, and did she jump off the trailer taking her to her new home?”, Charmaine Booysens of the 9th Day asked herself. “She’s also got an injury to one of her legs.”
Little Annabelle suffered a setback during the night and the vet had to go to the shelter to help her.
“We are really doing everything we can to save Annabelle. We know she’s not a dog or a cat, but she is a living being that needs prayers and help to get her stronger. A whole new life awaits her, a life filled with enough food and unconditional love; a life that so many deserve but never experience.”

If you can help with her vet care, milk and food, please make a payment into the shelter’s account – FNB Cheque Account, number 625 7101 6825, branch code 250409, reference ‘Annabelle’. No amount is too small.
