ATM bombed – attackers escape
They didn't take any cash when they fled, but left with cigarettes and other items.
Eight unknown men bombed an ATM at an Engine service station in Krugersdorp.
Krugersdorp Police spokesperson Tshepiso Mashale, said the suspects allegedly pulled up in a white X6 BMW on Wednesday, 31 January at about 11.30pm and forced the security guards and petrol attended out of the shop, ordering them to hide in the bushes.
“The ATM was bombed with unknown explosives and one shot was fired,” said Mashale. “It is alleged that the suspects stole cigarettes and other property inside the shop.”
However, they did not take any cash with them when they fled the scene.

The registration number of the vehicle is unknown and the police are continuing their investigation. No injuries were reported and no money was taken.
Krugersdorp Police are appealing to the community to assist with information that might lead to the arrest of these armed suspects. Information can be forwarded to the Krugersdorp Police on 011 951 1151 or to Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
