Gauteng Health Department to visit NGO
They will visit the NGO to find out why these three patients from Life Esidimeni are still there, and what conditions are like for them.
Later today,15 February, the DA Gauteng Shadow MEC for Health, Jack Bloom, and the DA Gauteng Spokesperson on Health, Dr Neil Campbell, will visit Mosego Home in Krugersdorp.
This follows after Bloom opened a missing person’s case at the Johannesburg Central Police Station about two weeks ago, in an effort to locate the 62 Life Esidimeni patients who had not yet been found.
He was shocked when police said in a statement on Tuesday, 13 February that three of these patients had been found at the Mosego Home in Krugersdorp. This is the home that Health Ombudsman Professor Malegapuru Makgoba ordered to close after seven other former Esidimeni patients died there.

They will visit the non-government organisation (NGO) to find out why these three patients from Life Esidimeni are still there, and what conditions are like for them and other patients after the NGO won a tribunal appeal to retain their licence to continue operating.
