Discover your body’s natural healing ability
Aafiyah healing is a natural energy healing modality that focuses on breathing, and mind and body awareness techniques that help the body and mind to heal and regain its balance.
What if one’s emotional state of being can be directly linked to one’s physical state of being? According to local Meriflexologist – a person who unblocks the energy flow of the body to prevent certain illnesses – Naeema Bayat, this is exactly the case.
“Our bodies are made up of energy and are reliant upon energy in their day to day running. When the energy flow in the body is disrupted, either by physical ailments or emotions, then symptoms of pain and discomfort arise to highlight this imbalance,” she explained.

After considerable research into the matter, Naeema found that there are ways to help persons with physical ailments or emotional ‘baggage’ – a method known as Aafiyah healing.
Aafiyah healing is a natural energy healing modality that focuses on breathing, and mind and body awareness techniques that help the body and mind to heal and regain their balance.
She went on to say that during a healing session, the practitioner increases his or her level of energy and passes it to the client’s body, which then absorbs it. This allows the body to heal itself naturally by coming back into balance.
“Even though it might come across like I’m healing the client, I’m really not. It’s the clients healing themselves,” she said.
An energy healing session can also induce an extremely comfortable state of being that can alter the client’s consciousness. This healing is based on universal laws of energy, enabling everyone to benefit from it.
One of the greatest benefits of energy healing is stress reduction and relaxation, which trigger the body’s natural healing abilities and improve and maintain health, Naeema said. Energy healing is a natural therapy that gently balances the body’s life-force and brings health and well-being to the recipient.
What does it do?
• Provides the additional energy required to recover from illness
• Creates deep relaxation and aids the body to release stress and tension
• Accelerates the body’s self-healing abilities
• Reduces blood pressure
• Can help with acute and chronic problems
• Aids the breaking of addictions by reducing some of the side effects of drugs
• Helps relieve pain etc.
“When I began with my Aafiyah course, I truly believed that one had to be on a very different level to ‘heal’ clients. I assumed that one had to have a very high level of ‘imaan’ (Islamic for faith) and that it is based on an Islamic foundation,” she said.
“However, during the course I realised that each person has the inner ability to heal themselves and that Aafiyah is not confined to any religious belief or denomination. It is in my opinion a course nurturing one’s inner ability to heal. It focuses on doing what the body does naturally – breathing.”
With this she uses a person’s energy flow to help them deal with any kind of pain or trauma they may have experienced throughout their lives.
“As was said and remains very true: We forget to breathe. I, and a lot of clients, can testify that since we started breathing, we have felt much more energised and free of resistance,” she concluded.
