Activist aims to shower Cape Town with love
Within only one month she managed to accumulate more than her goal of 3 000 litres of water.
It only takes one small initiative to make a big difference, and even though Cape Town’s Day Zero has been postponed to the end of May, they still need all the help they can get.
This is why Naeema Bayat, who is also an MRI radiographer at Netcare Krugersdorp Hospital, thought it best to collect as many 5-litre water bottles as possible in affiliation with Gift of the Givers.

Within only one month she managed to accumulate more than her goal of 3 000 litres of water. This is roughly 630 bottles of pure drinking water that will be received by thousands of drought-stricken Capetonians.
“Some supporters donated one bottle and others donated more than 200. I am so thankful for everyone’s kind and open hearts,” she said.
On Tuesday, 20 February Naeema’s efforts finally paid off when Gift of the Givers met with her to collect the first consignment.
“I stand up for uniting against poverty and reaching out to areas of devastation and crisis. I have supported local and international projects.”

She has also been and is currently involved in projects with Gift of the Givers, Baitul Salaamz, Islamic Relief, Al Imdaad and Spiritual Chords. Naeema aims to help as many in need as possible, as much as possible.
