Our Club, a non-profit organisation, offers the opportunity to meet like-minded people, make new friends and enjoy a fun-filled social life by hosting a tea party at Ena’s in Northcliff at 4pm. A Viking Thing:
3 MARCH — Like a knight in shining armour, La Vue Guest Lodge and Wedding Venue in Muldersdrift will host A Viking Thing fundraiser for a group of South African ‘knights’ to represent their country in Historical Medieval Combat at the International Medieval Combat Federation’s 2018 Championship at Scone Palace in Scotland in May. There will be loads of Viking-related activities from archery, axe throwing, Kubb (viking chess), toga hönk (seated tug-of-war), tug-of-war (standing) and the farmer’s walk. There will also be lots of markets with Viking food to nibble on, a boat-burning ceremony, weapons forging and a kid-friendly environment for families. Hike the Koppies:

4 MARCH — Join in on a guided group hike through the Melville Koppies central, setting off at 3pm sharp. Park in the upper car-park at Marks Park on Judith Road, Emmarentia, then cross Judith Road to the entrance on the opposite side. Costs are R60 for adults and R40 for children. All donations are used to maintain the Koppies. Children must be over six years old. Sorry, no dogs allowed. Contact Wendy on 011 482 4797 or visit www.mk.org.za for more information.
Gold mine tour:
4 MARCH —The Kloofendal Nature Reserve is hosting a gold mine tour from 2pm. Learn about history of West Rand gold mining and visit Confidence Reef and see how the stamp mills operate. The tour costs R70 for adults, R60 for pensioners and R50 for children.
