Traffic jams after accident that claims one
Traffic is being diverted and Trezona Avenue is highly congested.
One man was killed and two others injured this afternoon, 6 March, in a collision between a light delivery vehicle and bakkie on Randfontein Road in Kagiso. The accident happened close to the Leratong intersection.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, found the bakkie in the middle of the road while the delivery vehicle was on the side of the road. Paramedics discovered the body of a man trapped inside the delivery vehicle. Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to his injuries. Nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead.

Two other victims were found on the scene, both critically injured. One of them was trapped inside the light delivery vehicle. Rescue services had to use specialised equipment to free the victim.
Once freed, paramedics treated the victims and provided both with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, they were transported to nearby hospitals.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
