Hollywood Walk of Fame:

FROM 14 MARCH — Movies and music have gone hand in hand since the first films drew the attention of thousands, back in the early days of film making. Would you like to take a trip down memory lane? Silverstar Barnyard presents Hollywood Walk of Fame – a tribute to the greatest music from the greatest movies of all time! St Patrick’s Day Charity bash:

17 MARCH — The Ruimsig Country Club is hosting a St Patrick’s Day Charity Bash with live Irish music from 7pm, in conjunction with Rocci. A fun-filled evening is predicted, with prizes for best-dressed in green and other spot prizes. All proceeds from the function will go to the Tower of Life (a shelter for the homeless and destitute) and Shalom (a home for the physically and mentally disabled). St Patrick’s Day:

Get down to Silverstar and bring the luck of the Irish with you for St Patrick’s Day.

17 MARCH — Get down to Silverstar and bring the luck of the Irish with you! On Saturday, 17 March, Silverstar will be transformed into an all-green venue in celebration of the age-old Irish tradition. Catch the England vs Ireland game on the Square, where themed food specials will be served from 4pm to 10pm. With food and drink specials aplenty, great rugby ‘gees’ and live performances by various entertainers, there is no better place to be this St Patrick’s Day!

Hike the Koppies:

18 MARCH — Join the guided group tour through Melville Koppies Central. The hike sets off at 8.30am sharp. Parking is available in the upper car park at Marks Park in Judith Road, Emmarentia. Entrance is R60 for adults and R40 children – all donations are used to maintain the Koppies. ­Children must be over six years old. Sorry, no dogs allowed. Butterfly Walk:

The Kloofendal Nature Reserve is hosting a butterfly walk.

18 MARCH — The Kloofendal Nature Reserve is hosting a butterfly walk from 9am. Try to catch butterflies with nets and collection jars – you will be shown how to do so without harming them – look and learn about them and then release them. Tickets costs R70 for adults, R60 for pensioners and R50 for children. Bookings to be made with FroK on 079 693 5608 or through Quicket.
