Paramedics to the rescue on N14

Rescue services had to use the Jaws of Life to free a man from his vehicle.

Three people were left injured on Friday, 16 March, one of them critically, after a bakkie and light motor vehicle collided on the N14 in Krugersdorp.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, found the bakkie on the side of the road while the light motor vehicle was some distance away in the veld.

Upon closer inspection, paramedics found a man lying trapped inside one of the vehicles. He was in a critical condition. The other two victims, both women, were seated in the other vehicle.

Rescue services had to use the Jaws of Life to free the man. Once freed, paramedics treated him and provided him with advanced life support interventions. The two women were treated for their injuries, which ranged from minor to moderate.

Once treated, the patients were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

Local authorities were on the scene to investigate.
