Muldersdrift Police are investigating a case of armed robbery and attempted murder that occurred at the N14 and Malibongwe Drive off-ramp (in the direction of Krugersdorp) in Nooitgedacht, Muldersdrift.
A 29-year-old woman was driving on the N14 with a passenger. They allegedly stopped on a yellow line to check their GPS.
Constable Gloria Maswanganye, spokesperson for the West Rand Cluster Police, reported that they were approached by two unknown males, one with a firearm. The suspects proceeded to rob them of their cellphones, a laptop and a handbag.
“The suspect with the firearm allegedly fired one shot through the driver’s window and hit the passenger in her lower body. The suspects were disturbed by passing motorists and fled the scene,” said Maswanganye.
Police are urging motorists not to stop in these areas, especially at night. They have launched a manhunt for the two suspects and are appealing to members of the community to please come forward with information that will assist in their arrest.
