Make girls’ matric farewell dreams come true
Donate your second hand dresses and suits and you could help boys and girls have their dream matric farewell.
Although many may have the means to buy or hire a designer dress or suit, some girls and boys don’t. This is why Princess for a Day was born. It’s an initiative started by Madré Botha and Yolandi Coetzee Pestana to which members of the community can donate their second-hand dresses or suits and give less fortunate learners a chance to make their fairy-tale night come true.
In 2017, Princess for a Day helped 79 less fortunate girls look absolutely stunning for their matric dance – all for free.

They rely solely on donated garments which must be returned within 24 hours after the dance, so that they can be used for another person the following year.
They are asking members of the community to open their hearts and assist by donating evening/ cocktail dresses, party dresses, party costumes, pageant outfits, men’s suits and jackets, handbags, jewellery and accessories, shoes (women’s and men’s), masks, gloves, tiaras, hairpieces, nail polish, hairdryers and even wedding dresses.

If you are a professional and would like to help the girls with their make-up or hair, this will also be welcomed.
If you want to donate any of these items or if you have someone who needs a dress, contact Madré on 078 676 9760 or Yolandi on 062 748 4657. These kind-hearted women also assist less fortunate brides by supplying wedding and bridesmaids’ dresses.
