[WATCH] Local 16-year-old to fly across Africa
"I thought about what my next challenge was going to be. Something that would inspire the whole world."
Megan Werner, a Grade 11 learner from Hoërskool Noordheuwel, is continuously discovering new heights.
At a very young age, she learned how to fly, and now, at the age of only 16, she’s literally soaring.

It all started when local book-lovers became acquainted with a new book on the shelves about a year ago. What made it stand out above the rest was its author – a 15-year-old motivational speaker.
“I was 13 when I wrote my first motivational book, entitled It’s up to Me. I wrote about seven ways to make a difference and included a lot of my personal experiences,” she said.

The English/ Afrikaans book was translated into Russian and soon became a Russian bestseller. Megan has subsequently been honoured with the opportunity to speak about her book all over Russia.
She was also thrilled to have had Robert Kiyosaki – author of the international bestseller, Rich Dad Poor Dad for Teens – write her book’s foreword. This talented teen even gave motivational speeches in Russia, Kazakhstan and Las Vegas. Her biggest audience consisted of a tremendous 5 000 people at the National Achievers Congress South Africa. She also often speaks to corporates and has been the key note speaker on many occasions.

But, her thirst for adventure didn’t stop there.
