Yesterday, a Mogale City Local Municipality employee, who has asked not to be named because he is not the official spokesperson, explained to the News why many areas in Krugersdorp are still without water, despite the fact that the problem which caused the water shortage has been resolved.
He said that it would take time for the local reservoirs to fill and members of the public should just be patient.

By yesterday afternoon it seemed as if the water pressure had returned to normal.
However, by 6pm, residents of Krugersdorp North, Wentworth Park, Dan Pienaarville, and many other areas, were reporting low or no water pressure.
Aletta van Loggerenberg, a DA ward councillor said she investigated and found that workers were busy ‘bleeding’ the water pipes to get rid of the air pockets trapped within them.
“I went to Gordon Gray Street in Dan Pienaarville and found the workers busy bleeding the pipes. For this to work, the water pressure needs to be at a certain level, and I hope it was, because if it wasn’t there will be more water issues in the next few hours,” said Aletta.
“It’s also worth mentioning that we are getting so many conflicting reports from Rand Water and the local municipality that it’s difficult to say exactly what the big problem is.”
“I believe that if everything goes well, water pressure should be back to normal by tonight, but anything can change at any time.”
