Munsieville gogo a heaven sent for the hungry

Anna and her team currently serve up to 300 children twice a week.

Late last year, Anna Makgele, who is a gogo to all, decided to start a soup kitchen which is now known as Lethabo Soup Kitchen.

When walking through the streets of Munsieville on a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon, one might smell fresh, wholesome, healthy home-cooked meals in the air.

These savoury aromas will lead you straight to gogo Anna’s humble kitchen. The idea of the soup kitchen subsequently grew into an after-school social feeding scheme which aims to foster a community-orientated programme to challenge malnutrition resulting from bad eating habits.

Anna and her team currently serve up to 300 children twice a week. On other afternoons, she said, her yard is filled with children running around playing.

As this big-hearted gogo pays for everything with her monthly pension, she would like to appeal to the community to open their hearts as well, because she would like to help as many children as possible.

If you are interested in helping Anna help the children with food, clothes or finances, feel free to contact her on 072 950 8958 or send an email to lethabobosk2067@gmail.com.
