Almost 40 rounds of live ammunition found in Tarlton
The police station commander expressed her concern that the firearm might still be in the hands of criminals.
On Thursday, 12 July, 39 rounds of live ammunition as well as two R5 magazines were found abandoned in an open field near the Norman informal settlement in Tarlton.
The discovery came when Sergeant Motladile was conducting a routine patrol around the area. The sergeant’s keen observation resulted in spotting two magazines wrapped together. Both were fully loaded with live rounds.

Lieutenant Colonel Tsoaedi, station commander of the Tarlton Police applauded the member for being so observant. She called on community members to report or come forward with information about any person who might be in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
Tsoaedi further stated that the recovery of the ammunition was good police work.
She did, however, express her concern about the firearm that is still unaccounted for and could possibly be in the hands of criminals.
