Artists showcase their creations
The official Visual Arts Exhibition welcomed a number of talented artists.
Upon entering the Mogale City Museum, you’d might expect to enter a world that exists outside your own – a colourful world filled with exotic landscapes, legendary figures and wild animals roaming free.
This world is all thanks to the seventh annual Visual Arts Exhibition, which never disappoints. The official opening was held in June and welcomed participants consisting of qualified, self-taught and upcoming fine arts artists from Mogale City and surrounding areas.

The Community Development Department’s aim with the exhibition includes promoting local fine artists and their work to the public and providing an opportunity for artists to sell their work. Through this, they present a platform for the artists to network, as well as the opportunity to learn from each other.
Exhibition organisers were also thrilled to welcome their youngest participant, Zoë Nkhoma, who is only 12 years old. According to Zoë, she likes painting surrealistic portraits in acrylics, and would like to exhibit her work again next year.

Another artist, Jakkie Naudé, who has been painting for more than 20 years, was also excited to exhibit his work for yet another year.
Just like Zoë and Jakkie, a number of other artists looked forward to having the public view their work. The general public can now visit the museum until 31 July to see some of the artists’ most treasured creations.
The museum will be open from 9am until 4pm on weekdays and from 9am until noon on Saturdays.
