In a joint effort to educate children about the public service and its potential, various departments in Krugersdorp visited Munsieville Primary School on Mandela Day, 18 July.
The Department of Correctional Services sent prison guards and officials from the Krugersdorp Prison to help other departments clean the school’s premises with the children.

Working on Fire, a government-funded job creation initiative that helps with fire management in South Africa, also sent some of its members to educate the children about their programmes.
Other departments such as Community Safety, Mogale City Traffic Department, Westonaria Court and LifeLine West Rand sent representatives to the school to talk to the children about how they conduct their operations.
Tsogo Sun and Silverstar highlighted the importance of reading by filling the school’s newly founded library with more than 1 000 books and promised to deliver more books soon.
