Saturday crashes around town leave six injured – one critical in ICU
Paramedics were dispatched from the one scene to the other on a busy Saturday.
Six people were left injured, two severely, after a string of accidents occurred in and around Krugersdorp on Saturday, 21 July.
A man was left in a critical condition after an alleged hit-and-run incident on the old Randfontein Road in Krugersdorp.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find him lying in the middle of the road.

He was assessed and found to have sustained numerous injuries. The paramedics provided him with advanced life support interventions before he was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The vehicle that hit the man was not found on the scene.
Also on Saturday night, a motorcyclist was left seriously injured when he was knocked off his motorcycle by a light motor vehicle on Albertina Sisulu Road in Krugersdorp.
ER24 paramedics, along with another service, arrived on the scene and found the biker lying next to his bike in the middle of the road. They assessed him and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition. He was also treated and provided with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, he was airlifted by a private medical helicopter to a hospital in Johannesburg. According to numerous reports on Facebook, he is in a critical condition in the intensive care unit of the hospital.
Local authorities were on both scenes for further investigations.
On Saturday afternoon, four people were involved in a two-vehicle collision on Sterkfontein Road.
ER24 paramedics found all four seated on the side of the road. Once they were treated on the scene, they were transferred to hospital for further care.
