[WATCH] Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No – it’s Spiderman
The Spiderman costume is simply a metaphor for the fact that anyone can be a hero and leave a lasting legacy by donating an organ.
South Africa’s very own Spiderman – better known as Spinnekop – Eric Kevin Nefdt, is attempting to run from Pretoria to Lüderitz, in southern Namibia.
Eric, who is an estate agent, family man, aspiring adventurer and proud organ donor from Pretoria, aims to run for the Organ Donor Foundation of South Africa with the mission of being a hero.

He started his journey on Saturday, 4 August and made his way through Krugersdorp the next day. During the weekend alone he covered almost 80km of his 1 550km journey.
Joining him on his journey is Normie Eckard, who recently completed seven extreme adventures in seven days, to raise funds for a little girl living with cerebral palsy. Remarkably, Normie, a former U/19 rugby captain and paraplegic of more than 20 years, intends completing five km per day with his rugby wheelchair.

The adventure will be broken into about 40 days, with Eric aiming to set a world record for the longest marathon run in a superhero costume.
Eric explained that the Spiderman costume is simply a metaphor or symbol for the fact that anyone can be a hero and leave a lasting legacy by donating an organ.
After taking an overnight breather in Krugersdorp, he continued with his journey to Holfontein.
