#CaxtonCares: Help the News’ girls kick it to the dogs!
The News challenges the community to help raise funds and collect dog food in aid of The 9th Day Animal Shelter.
On Sunday, 19 August, the News’ girls will take part in a charity endurance challenge in aid of The 9th Day Animal Shelter.
This challenge is a three-hour physical challenge hosted by Donna’s Health and Fitness and the News’ editor, Janine Viljoen, and journalist, Alanicka Lotriet, will take part in the spinning, kickboxing and rebounce (trampoline) exercises which will be an hour long each. Journalist Bianca Pindral will be there to help document this challenge and to keep our social media audience glued to their devices.
The reason why Donna Groothedde from Donna’s Health decided to host this challenge is to help participants understand the emotional and often physical challenges Charmaine Booysens, founder of the 9th Day Shelter, goes through to keep the shelter’s doors open.
The shelter is on the verge of closing due to the hefty vet bill it needs to pay and the number of abandoned and stray dogs she takes in.
And here’s how you can help.
The News’ team, together with Donna and her team are challenging the community to contribute funds or dog food towards this worthy initiative.
Even though Donna’s challenge is already booked out, you can still help by dropping off donations on Sunday at Donna’s studio situated at 62 Shannon Road in Noordheuwel from 7.30am to 10am. You can help make this challenge a huge success.
