Hospital celebrates women by giving women in blue a platform to speak
“I survived four bullets inside my body due to a toxic relationship."
Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital celebrated Women’s Day with a line-up of exciting speakers who embraced the true meaning of being a woman.
“The purpose of this day is to celebrate women who are wonderfully and fearfully made in the image of God, so you are free to sing and dance as you remember how you are made,” said Diana Ngwenya, acting CEO of the hospital.

Sergeant Tshepi Mashele, spokesperson for the Krugersdorp Police Station was an honoured guest speaker who explained the process of the justice system as it pertains to gender-based violence.
“Both men and women can visit the Police without fear, as we do not allow members of the public to be mistreated when they come to us for help,” said Mashele.
Constable Ntombi Mdletshe from Kagiso Police Station shared her experience as a victim of gender-based violence.
“I survived four bullets in my body due to a toxic relationship. All the signs of abuse were there, but because I wanted to get married, I thought submission was the solution. Through it all, I focused my energy on getting my degree to try and ease the pain. I believed I was to blame for pushing my fiancé and he made me believe I was to blame for him shooting me,” said Ntombi.

Among the activities of the day was a demonstration of how the staff handles customers in their respective departments.
The event was also graced by the presence of Dr Mosiatlhaga, who is part of the District Specialist Team and gave a sermon on living a purposeful life.
Pastor Tladi said in her motivational speech that for all to progress in life we need to let go of bitterness and anger, focus on forgiveness, and press on.
