The Mystery Ghost Bus will run in Johannesburg on 17 August.

17 AUGUST — The Mystery Ghost Bus will run in Johannesburg on 17 August. There will be ‘Pub & Grub’ stops, poltergeists, electronic voice phenomenon recordings, dowsing rods, a dark haunted room, graveyards and much more. Join Efekto and John Sauer from Ngena Succulents as he shows you how to plant a succulent container garden.

18 AUGUST — Join Efekto and John Sauer from Ngena Succulents as he shows you how to plant a succulent container garden, and also discusses the water scarcity in South Africa that is the result of a growing population and rapid urbanisation. Cost is R100 per person, which includes the talk/ demonstration, a goodie bag, refreshments and fabulous prize giveaways including succulents in containers. The event takes place at Garden World in Muldersdrift and starts at 9.30am.

22 AUGUST — The University of the 3rd Age (U3A) West Rand is going on a day trip by bus to Bronkhorstspruit for a guided tour through the Nan Hau Buddhist Temple. Good opportunities for photography outside. We then go to Cullinan where we can see the replicas of the extraordinarily large diamonds mined there and take a guided motorised tour to the mine, the dumps and the big hole. Magalies Rocks the Cradle

24–26 AUGUST — The Magalies Rocks the Cradle Weekend Festival offers 72 hours of relax, explore, experience and unwind. A combination of distinctive offerings set against a magnificent backdrop of mountains, valleys, rivers and indigenous woodland makes this three-day celebration unmissable! Art Workshop at Ngwenya Glass Village

25 AUGUST — Come and join in the fun and take home a professional painting (ready to hang) at Ngwenya Glass Village, in Muldersdrift’s Art Workshop. The theme of the workshop is ‘Shelf of mixed herbs and flowers’. Registration starts at 9am. Coffee/ tea and muffins will be served throughout the workshop.
