Binder recovers 10 places in Spain despite tyre pressure issue
Low rear tyre pressure sent Krugersdorp's MotoGP rider off-track early, forcing a hard fight back through the field.
Red Bull KTM rider Brad Binder fought his way back to 10th place at the Grand Prix of Aragón after an early off-track excursion dropped him to 20th.
Binder moved into the top 12 on the opening lap before running off at Turn 12, forcing a fight back through the field at MotorLand Aragón on August 30.
Tyre issues hamper progress
Binder said low rear tyre pressure contributed to the mistake, explaining that his rear tyre pressure was not up when he braked into Turn 11, causing him to lose the rear completely and blow the entrance into Turn 12.
After seeing himself down in 20th, Binder knew he had a difficult recovery ahead.
“I came back to 10th, so I cannot complain too much. A solid enough comeback but … I have some work to do,” he said.
The result leaves Binder 13th in the championship standings ahead of his next race at the Grand Prix of San Marino and the Rimini Riviera from September 11 to 13.
