Women’s weekend empowers local women
The delegates were very impressed with the keynote address.
The annual Community Investment Holding (CIH) Women’s Weekend, held at the beginning of August at the Mount Grace Hotel in Magaliesburg, was a weekend filled with fun and excitement, but above all, it was a weekend wherein women were motivated.
Speakers at the event enlightened and empowered the women by sharing their stories and making presentations that gave the women hope and encouragement.
The delegates also heard presentations on women’s health, wellness, wisdom and social etiquette.
Dr Anna Mokgokong, the Executive Chairperson of CIH, gave the keynote address. Her theme for women’s month this year was ethics, excellence and empowerment, which underpinned her topic of the day which was “Developing oneself in the corporate world”.
She delivered a powerful yet empowering speech, as she touched on a few aspects of self-development which she felt would strengthen and empower women as they develop themselves.
She mentioned a quote that says, “You will have to understand yourself, because the hardest person you will ever have to lead is yourself,” reminding us that being an effective leader starts with ‘you’.
In summary, she emphasised that if one wants to get to the top, one needs to be self-confident.
The delegates were very impressed with her address, and responded by saying she “reflected on the issues she’s shared”.
The Friday evening ended with everyone networking, and dancing to good music while Saturday afternoon was spent networking and relaxing with spa treatments and cocktails.
