Local artist showcases her talent in Hollywood
This talented artist was one of only 36 South Africans who were chosen to compete.
In July, a local artist named Mariska Adriaanzen represented not only her school (Hoërskool Noordheuwel) and her town (Krugersdorp), but also the country. She competed in the World Championships of Performing Arts in Hollywood.
After participating in nine genres, including Pop, Contemporary, Gospel, Jazz, R&B (Rhythm and Blues), Broadway, Country and Western, Rock and Variety and Other, she received an overall bronze for her performances.

This talented artist was one of only 36 South Africans who were chosen to compete and went up against 42 of the best artists in the world.
She went on to say that even though her competition was tough, she still gave it her best and gained a lot of valuable knowledge for the next world championships.

She even received three opportunities to record music and also had a world famous recording agency requesting her to record three original songs.
Should the opportunity present itself, she would like to compete again next year in hopes of taking home gold.
