[PHOTOS] News girls show their endurance for the dogs during fitness challenge
39 participants took part and more than R10 000 was raised.
The News girls, Janine Viljoen and Alanicka Lotriet, decided to take part in Donna’s Health and Fitness’ annual tri-challenge fitness endurance charity drive to show that Caxton Cares.
This time round it was in aid of a local dog shelter, the 9th Day Animal Rescue Shelter.

The challenge was made up of three fitness routines — and hour of kickboxing, and hour of rebounce (the latest craze in fitness and is done on an exercise trampoline) and finishing with an hour of spinning.
When the final alarm went off, the challenge was over and considered a rip-roaring success with 39 participants taking part and more than R10 000 being raised. The community also had the opportunity to donate dog food which will be handed over to Charmaine Booysens of the Shelter.

Donna Groothedde, founder of Donna’s Fitness, said her heart was broken when she learnt of the 9th Day’s plight and her aim with this challenge was to relieve them of some of their vet bills.
If you would like to get involved in the 9th Day, visit their Facebook page, or give Charmaine a call on 082 924 9337.
