Local Pokémon GO rivals join forces
Representatives from all three universal Pokémon GO teams hosted their monthly Pokémon GO Krugersdorp Community Day at Key West Shopping Centre.
During the weekend of 11 and 12 August representatives from all three universal Pokémon GO teams – Instinct (Lightning), Mystic (Ice) and Valor (Fire) – hosted their monthly Pokémon GO Krugersdorp Community Day at Key West Shopping Centre.

According to trainer and Mystic representative, Juanita du Preez, this two-day event presented the opportunity for all players to collect as many Eevee and Shiny Eevee as possible. Eevee, who is also the game mascot, is known for being able to evolve into one of eight different Pokémon through various methods.
Two of the major components of the game are training and battling. Once a trainer reaches Level 5 and taps a gym, he or she can choose the team he or she would like to become a part of. After choosing a team, trainers can then boost friendly gyms and battle rivals.
Gyms are locations found throughout the world where one can battle the Pokémon of rival teams. There are currently four ex-gyms located in Krugersdorp (Keeromberg, Paardekraal Monument, Paul Kruger Statue and Monument Liquor).
Even though the three teams usually compete against each other, Juanita explained that Pokémon GO Krugersdorp prefers to encourage friendly competition.
The day saw close to 90 trainers who seized the opportunity to claim gyms, battle rivals and of course, make some new friends.
