Mardi Gras Basaar
7 SEPTEMBER — Die NG Kerk Roodekrans, 7 Azalealaan, hou ‘n Mardi Gras Basaar vanaf 4nm tot laat. Daar gaan heerlike eetgoed en baie pret vir die kinders wees. Braaivleis, pannekoek, groentepadstal, hamburgers, kerrie en rys en nog baie meer gaan beskikbaar wees. Vir meer besonderhede kontak Elza by 082 898 9431.
Bosveld Braai Basaar
7 SEPTEMBER — Die NG Kerk Paardekraal-Monument hou ‘n bosveld braai basaar vanaf 1.30nm. Daar gaan allerhande unieke eetgoed soos ‘pulled-pork’ rolletjies, skilpadjies, lewerkoekies en pasteie en lasagnes wees. Vermaak word verskaf deur Danie en Barney van Niekerk van die Wes-Rand Vereniging vir Gestremdes. Kom koop jou aandete hier! Vir meer inligting skakel 082 839 4482.
Lentemark
8 SEPTEMBER — Die inwoners van die Tarlton kleinhoewe wat voorheen bekend was as Kleinvallei hou ‘n fondsinsameling Lentemark. Daar gaan talle stalletjies wees met heerlike eetgoedjies te koop. Back2Basics gaan optree en daar gaan ‘n lekker boeredans wees die aand, waar ‘n orkes gaan optree. Daar is nog stalletjies beskikbaar wat by 076 223 2720 bespreek kan word.
Jaarlikse veiling
8 SEPTEMBER — Die Hervormde Kerk Krugersdorp-Oos gemeente hou weer hulle jaarlikse veiling van tweedehandse goedere vanaf 10.30vm te 29 Gerrit Maritzstraat, Monument. Meubels en los goedere gaan teen “bargain” pryse beskikbaar wees. Kontak Piet Marais by 083 379 3703 vir meer besonderhede.
Three-koppie Group Hike
9 SEPTEMBER — Join the three-koppie group hike of up to 10km through the Melville Koppies. The group sets off 8.30am sharp. You can park, meet and pay in the upper car park at Marks Park, Judith Road, Emmarentia. Costs are R60 adults and R40 children – all donations are used to maintain the Koppies. Serene Evolutions workshop
9 SEPTEMBER — Two young black African women are coming together from a psychology and counselling background in an effort to build and empower vulnerable women. They are hosting their Serene Evolutions workshop at the Munsieville Community Hall from 1pm. The workshop is aimed at creating awareness about issues of abuse such as sexual, emotional, psychological, verbal and physical abuse. For more info, contact Nthabiseng Mokawane on 071 920 6998.

Groot Gees Fees
14–15 SEPTEMBER — Silverstar Casino is hosting another ‘lekker life’ experience by hosting the Groot Gees Fees. Come and celebrate Afrikaans in style. There will be music you can ‘sokkie’ to with great traditional boerekos to eat. The rugby will be shown and the kids will get to play in their own area. Tickets are R50 per person which includes a beer, cider, wine or soft drink. This is a festival you do not want to miss. Doors open on 14 September at 4pm and on 15 September at 11am. There will be performances by Afrikaans favourites such as Arno Jordaan, Conrad Cronje, Radio Kalahari Orkes and Beeskraal.
