Local women celebrate being a woman

As the event progressed, various speakers spoke about the role women play in various areas of life.

In celebration of Women’s Month, Ntombizethu Dijane – a local feminist who is passionate about women in society – decided to honour all women of substance by hosting her first ever Women to Women event.

This prestigious occasion was held at Mount Usambara on Saturday, 25 August, and every guest certainly dressed to impress.

As the event progressed, various speakers spoke about the role women play in various areas of life such as faith, construction, security and cleaning, politics and fashion design as well as social activism and the purpose of a woman. They were also humbled by the presence of Mogale City Executive Mayor, Councillor Naga Patrick Lipudi.

A platform such as this one was critical, especially in this region where unemployment challenges are major in comparison with other regions in Gauteng, Zethu said.
