Rainbow Samaritans reaching out to Krugersdorpers

Pat and Zak decided to establish the Rainbow Samaritans in 2017.

Pat Moodliar and Zak Grobler are two elderly gentlemen on a mission.

Their aim is helping those affected by cancer – whether you are a survivor, caregiver or just an interested party. Their support group, aptly named The Chatroom, was founded three years ago.

The Chatroom meets every second Saturday and has seen some great successes with attendance.

The Chatroom will meet at its new venue at the NG Kerk Constantiakruin at 10am on 6 October, and invites Krugersdorp cancer affiliates to join in.

The Chatroom is also sanctioned, recognised and approved by the Cancer Association of South Africa.

To extend their support, Pat and Zak decided to establish the Rainbow Samaritans in 2017 after realising that many of the caregivers and survivors often struggle with meeting basic needs such as food and funds.

These beneficiaries will be identified through the Chatroom and funds or goods collected by the Samaritans will be handed over through a merit system to those in need.

Pat would like to thank the Radiokop Spar for showing kindness towards the support group and for donating refreshments for their meetings.

If you would like to join the Chatroom, contact Chrissie on 079 677 8126 for more information. If you would like to contribute towards Pat and Zak’s Samaritans, contact Zak on 081 242 8304.
