Former local beggar Michael missing again

It seems that Michael has run away again, and his family is worried sick.

A former beggar who frequented the streets of Krugersdorp for years, has gone missing after checking himself out of rehab, again.
Michael Botha is no stranger on the streets of Krugersdorp since the News documented his drug abuse and rehabilitation journey in 2015 and early 2016.

His sister, Michelle Senekal, spoke candidly to the News in 2015 about how worried they are about Michael living on the streets and his struggles to stay clean. After the community poured their hearts out to Michael and his sister, he managed to find a spot at a rehabilitation centre on the East Rand, but shortly after entering, he ran away and Michelle reported him missing.

It seems that Michael has again run away and Michelle says they are sick with worry.
“He came to visit us from rehab and told us how he missed home. Upon returning to rehab, he decided to check out and hitched a ride back home. He told us he was fine and wanted to start a new life in Durban. We heard he was dropped off in Westonaria, but we are not sure. We fear he might have relapsed, but that is okay, we just want to know if he is okay so that we can find him and help him,” Michelle said.

A healthier Michael Botha.

Michael, 28, has green eyes, is about 1,8 metres tall and has short brown hair. He has a firm build, but might have possibly lost weight after being last spotted on 16 August in the Vanderbiljpark area.
