Namaste Holistic Fayre

6 OCTOBER — The first-of-its-kind market welcomes everyone interested in a natural, holistic and happy way of life and healing to the interactive holistic fayre at The Retreet, 14 Kromdraai Road, from 9.30am. There will be inspirational talks and demos, natural and homeopathy products for sale, a children’s play area, tea garden and much more to do. Entrance is R10 and children under 16 enter for free. 6 OCTOBER — UlangaBar, South Africa’s inimitable lifestyle mobile bar brand famous for stirring up watering holes with its signature cocktails, including Ko Mkokotlong, Manyonyoba, Hlaudi and Mavuso, will host its third annual UlangaBar Beer Festival at Plot 20 on Driefontein Road, Muldersdrift. Tickets are available at Computicket for R100 and will also be available at the door for R150. Guided hike
7 OCTOBER — Join a guided group tour through Melville Koppies Central of up to three hours. The tour sets off at 3pm sharp, so please arrive well on time. Park in the upper parking area at Marks Park on Judith Road, Emmarentia, then walk across Judith to the entrance. Costs are R60 for adults and R40 for children – all donations are used to maintain the Koppies. Children must be over six years old. Sorry, no dogs allowed. U3A Talk
9 OCTOBER — Come and join The University of the Third Age (U3A) West Rand to meet people of your own age and to listen to stimulating talks on different subjects. They also go on day trips to interesting places and enjoy affordable group lunches at restaurants away from the malls and the city. The U3A is a non-profit international organisation for retirees with many branches. You can also join group to be with people with whom you share hobbies or interests. Membership is R70 per annum. Their next monthly meeting will be at the Wilgespruit NG Kerk in Wilro Park. Alan Brand of Positively Alive will talk about living with HIV and AIDS.
