Community asked to help feed the hungry of Krugersdorp West
Scores of families are in need of food.
The We’re Against Starvation Foundation (WAS) is appealing to the community to urgently help them collect 115 food parcels for battling families in Krugersdorp.
The aim is to hand out these parcels on 13 October at a plot in Krugersdorp.
They are asking for the following:
- 115 x packets of maize meal
- 115 x packets of rice
- 115 x packets of soya mince
- 115 x packets of spaghetti or macaroni
- 115 x loaves of bread or rolls
- 115 x packets of soup mix or beans
- 230 x tins of vegetables
- 230 x tins of fish
- 230 x tins of meat
- 230 x packets of soup
- Any fresh vegetables
They also need volunteers to help prepare and serve lunch to 375 people on Saturday.
According to Riekie Trollip, one of the volunteers, they have received a small donation of chips for the kids, but they desperately need donations.
Because of transport limitations they request that donations be dropped off directly at the plot in Krugersdorp West. Anyone willing to help can contact Riekie on 062 419 8120 or email Esmarelda at esmerelda@wasfoundation.org.za
