Stolen vehicle found after more than a year
Upon further investigation, it was found that the car had in fact been stolen from Midrand in March 2017.
A 28-year old suspect was arrested in Rietfontein, Muldersdrift, on Monday for possession of a stolen vehicle.
According to Constable Slindile Ntuli, spokesperson for the Muldersdrift Police, Sergeant Mogodi was on duty when he received information about a stolen vehicle in Rietfontein.
When he arrived at the suspect’s house he spotted a white Mercedes-Benz parked outside.

Mogodi then questioned the man about the car. He claimed that he had borrowed the car from a friend. Upon further investigation, it was found that the car had in fact been stolen from Midrand in March 2017 and the correct registration number for the car is KM 262 GP.
The man was arrested and will appear in court soon.
Lieutenant Colonel Mankontsho Setlhare said that he condemns such behaviour and added that all those found on the wrong side of the law shall be brought to book.
